Durban Galvanizing

SBS wheelchair basketball day

Awareness and fund raising for people living with disabilities.

Fundraiser Report

This initiative by SBS Group is truly commendable as it aims to promote awareness and raise funds for people living with disabilities. The funds are used, among other projects, to purchase wheelchairs for those in desperate need.

It’s heartening to know that the experience provided an opportunity for able-bodied people to understand, even if in a small way, what living with a disability entails.

Such shifts in perspective can help foster discussions for improved access and consideration for people with mobility and other impairments and are critical in achieving a discrimination-free future in South Africa.
Durban Galvanizing is honoured to have been included in this great event.

Dear Brett & Karin

I trust that you guys are doing well and that your operations are busy and prosperous.

On behalf of the SBS Tanks family, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you and your team at Durban Galvanizing for your generous support of our 2024 SBS Wheelchair Challenge Fundraiser. Your contribution was truly appreciated. ( a few pics attached for your records). A huge thanks for sharing on social media, this demonstrates true partnership.

With your support, we raised R542,327, surpassing our target of R400,000 -to assist individuals with disabilities who are in need. Your generosity has greatly impacted our community, providing wheelchairs and essential resources for mobility and independence. We have included our post-fundraiser report here.

We would love your feedback to help us improve the 2025 SBS Tanks Wheelchair Challenge and welcome any feedback / stories you may have about your experience while “taking a seat” in a wheelchair or simply being part of ‘doing good while doing good business’ with SBS Tanks. Please do share these with us!

We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and look forward to working together again in 2025.  Be sure to diarise the month of March 2025 as mobility month.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss how to get involved in 2025, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Warm regards,
