Our story

Founded in 1990, the Company has been hot dip galvanizing products for the greater Durban area, Mauritius, Seychelle, and Germany for over 20 years. In 1995 the company moved into their current Briardene branch location in Briardene Industrial park.

Since 2014 the Company has seen a massive increase in volume and as a result, has recently acquired one of its competitors, Phoenix Galvanizing and the Centrifuge plant. Today the 3 plants dip in excess of 2000 tons of steel per month, while still boasting a 48 – 72-hour turnaround time.

Brett together with fellow director’s Roy Ramadu and Anthonie De Wit, make up the remarkable senior management team at Durban Galvanizing.

Brett has been with the Company since 1993, Roy has been with the company since the Company started back in 1990, and  Anthonie joined the company in 2022 bringing with him 23 years of experience in steel manufacturing and hot dip galvanizing.

Durban Galvanizing is a member of the Hot Dip Galvanizers Association of Southern Africa and is ISO 9001:2015 and SANS 121:2011 SABS Certified.

Our Mission

By using the latest technology available in the market and with full environmental compliance we strive to supply high quality SANS 121 (ISO 1461) galvanizing at competitive rates within a short turnaround time.

Our special ability to handle a high volume of small jobs with our diverse team of specially trained staff allows us to utilize our three galvanizing lines to seamlessly service all our loyal customers ranging from heavy structural sections to the smallest of washers.

Meet The Team

Brett Eigenmann

Managing Director

Brett started in the financial and accounting field, but this is now backed up by 24 years experience in the galvanizing industry. Whilst he oversees and controls the financial aspects of the Company, he applies his extensive knowledge of the galvanizing process in the day-to-day affairs and adopts a hands-on approach to the business.

Roy Ramadu

Projects and Technical Director

Roy has been working with the company since its inception and has been in the galvanizing industry for 34 years. He is a qualified electrician and was extensively involved in the construction and commissioning of the new plant in 1995. Roy brings significant technical expertise to the company, and in 2022, he transitioned to the technical and special projects division. His current focus is on improving uptime and exploring ways to further reduce the company’s environmental impact.

Anthonie de Wit

Operations Director

Anthonie started his career as a civil engineering technician in the road construction and manufacturing industry. Over the last 23 years he has been involved in steel manufacturing and hot dip galvanizing and evolved to be General Manager at one of the biggest galvanizing companies in SA. In 2022 he joined Durban Galvanizing as the Operations Director adding his years of experience and knowledge to the management team and is currently overseeing all the operational needs of the company.
